The New Day had been one of the biggest attractions of WWE during their time and they are also considered one of the best factions not only in WWE but in professional wrestling history. It remained intact for over a decade and remained the center of attraction as long as it was in the business. All three members of the factions received both tag team and singles success while working as a part of this faction.
Later last year, The New Day celebrated their 10th anniversary. Big E, who is out of action with a career threatening injury since early 2022. The fans overly joyed to see this reunion after such a long time. But surprisingly, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods abandoned Big E during this segment and turned heel. This segment is also listed as one of the most emotional segments in WWE history.

Kingston and Woods are now playing a completely different character from what they used to portray as The New Day. There is no response from Big E after getting kicked out by his own teammates. Xavier Woods recently remembered this angle and shared insight on The New Day split. Speaking on the “SHAK Wrestling” podcast, he explained the following;

“Him getting hurt and us being there for him, we felt that at work, we had to make sure that we kept something familiar for him so that if he was to come back, he wouldn’t be in this crazy, new, extra-violent landscape without seeing something that he recognized. So we stayed the same. We stayed the New Day. We stayed bright and colorful and unicorn horns and, yeah, ice cream and pancakes. We stayed that way for E, not realizing that E wasn’t gonna come back until there was a spotlight to be had.”
Big E is rumored to return to WWE soon and there are even rumors that he may start a feud with the present New Day. But there is not much update on Big E’s injury status and earlier reports suggest that it did not look good. Maybe, WWE is keeping the doors open for this potential historic feud. The present New Day can also be an amazing fit for the Tag Team division of RAW, which is struggling badly.
