At the Bad Blood event of 2024, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns teamed up to take on the team of Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. After the show went off air, Kevin Owens was seen confronting Cody Rhodes, and he shocked the entire world when he attacked Cody Rhodes and beat him down.
This angle officially marked the heel turn of Kevin Owens who remained a babyface for a long time. Presently, he is the most devastating heel of Smackdown as only in two months time, Owens took out two of the biggest names of Smackdown out of action; Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes.

The move that he used to take these two veterans out of action is Pile Driver; the move that remained banned from WWE for a long time. Sami Zayn recently talked about this segment and how intrigued he was while watching it. During his recent appearance in the Battleground Podcast, the former three times WWE Intercontinental Champion said;
“The whole thing was a little surreal, if we really stop and think about it, considering we started together some 20 years ago in little church basements and community centers in Quebec, to all of a sudden see him standing at Saturday Night’s Main Event holding the Winged Eagle title over the champion

“I think sometimes, I’m sure he would say the same about me, but seeing it with Kevin sometimes opens my eyes more than when I’m doing it myself. Because, you’re on your own little path, and you’re on the hamster wheel and you’re focused on what you’re doing.

Kevin Owens is presently carrying the Winged Eagle variant of the WWE Championship title and he is claiming himself to be the real champion. He is not an official champion, as of now.
