Cody Rhodes, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes is one of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling right now. He is also one of the faces of WWE at this moment. The promotion is pushing him as a main event star since he made his return to WWE in 2022 at WrestleMania 38.
Rhodes received an instant push after returning to WWE with a series of victories over Seth Rollins. WWE built him for two long years to be the name who finally dethroned the mighty Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Rhodes is still holding the Undisputed WWE Championship strongly.
WWE Hall of Famer Shares Massive Praise For Cody Rhodes and Addresses Him as a Workhorse
The 39 year old may have been a very strong Undisputed WWE Champion but he has constant criticisms too for having a boring and extremely predictable title reign so far. Many wrestlers and legends came out in his defense in many occasions. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman shared praise for Rhodes while speaking with Logan Paul on the Impaulsive Podcast;
“Cody Rhodes is the champion. If there’s anybody right now — my God — he’s a commerce facilitator. He sells tickets, he sells t-shirts, he sells weight belts, he sells replica title belts that he signs. He drives commerce.” Paul Heyman stated.
Cody Rhodes ended 1300+ days' title reign of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL
“Cody, we need you in Detroit. We’re at 98%. We really want to sell out. We’re going to book you on three morning radio shows starting at 6 a.m. in Detroit. ‘Great, I’ll be there. If there are any others overnight, I’ll do the overnight radios too. I’ll do the afternoon drive-time radios, and I’ll get to the arena for the WWE show.'”
Cody Rhodes is the present Undisputed WWE Champion
“A workhorse. My God, man. And he’s doing it on his days off too. The commitment he has to promote the product goes along with it. It’s all about finding the greatness within people and helping them understand themselves and how to bring it out. That’s what a director does, or a producer does, or whatever a wise man does.” Paul Heyman concluded.
Cody Rhodes’ present Undisputed WWE title reign is one of the biggest examples on why any promotions should not promote back to back long title reigns; things just get boring and totally predictable. Anyone can easily predict that Rhodes is definitely not dropping the title to Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble, at least not before WrestleMania. So back to back long title reigns must be stopped.
