‘The Hit Man’ Bret Hart is widely known as one of the best technical wrestlers ever and he was one of biggest stars of his time. He won multiple World Championships from top promotions like WWE and WCW. He was also the face of WWE during the New Gen Era. It was pretty unfortunate that he had to retire quite early due to injury.

Hart had some amazing matches with some of the top stars his time like Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels. He was also active in WWE regularly during the New Gen Era of the promotion and he regularly competed in Monday Night RAW. Even his matches from the weekly shows were great.

One such match of Hart from Monday Night RAW was recently remembered by the WWE Hall of Famer X-Pac. In 1994, he was playing the gimmick of the 1-2-3 Kid and he had some excellent matches with some of the biggest stars of the time. One such match was against Bret Hart in an episode of RAW. While speaking on a recent “WWE Retrospective” video, X-Pac said;

“[Bret] wanted me to do all my stuff. I even did some stuff to him that I usually don’t do. I jackknife (powerbombed) him. I have to admit this, and Bret even told me, I lit him up like three separate times in this match that were some of the hardest potatoes he had ever received in his entire career.

“That spin kick might have been one of them. The dropkick in the corner was one. The leg drop. He said I crunched him on the leg drop off the top. Maybe a little bit [laughs]. Could have been worse.”

Bret Hart vs 1-2-3 Kid from RAW 1994 was a wrestling classic

“He was very gracious about it, though. It was all the detail stuff, putting as much into things that other people might think are smaller things, like a forearm or an elbow to the back of the head. There was as much effort and intensity put into those things as any of the bigger things. That’s incredibly important and something I learned from Bret.

“I wasn’t so much thinking about that I was having a WWE Championship match, but that I was having a match with Bret Hart. He was so giving in that match. It’s the greatest match of my career.” Concluded the former two times WWE European Champion.

X-Pac had an impressive WWE career despite being a hated name among the fans. The negative reaction he used to receive is known as ‘X-Pac Heat’ and this phrase is still used for wrestlers who get high negative reactions. But he was a great mid card of his time as he won multiple championships too.
