The New Day is widely regarded as one of the best factions in professional wrestling history. The three members of the faction; Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods have created history every time they have entered the ring together. For more than a decade, the three men has entertained the fans in various ways.
Since the very first day they started working together, the fans could never imagine these three guys working against each other. But it happened, it happened in a way that shocked in entire world. For months, it was looking like Xavier Woods would turn his back on Kofi Kingston as his actions were suspicious.
Wrestling Legend Discusses The Recent Heel Turn of The New Day and Predicts This Angle’s Future
But they surprised everyone when they abandoned Big E on their 10th anniversary celebration. It is now considered one of the most emotional segments in WWE history. Wrestling Legend Tommy Dreamer recently talked about this angle and reflected on its future. Speaking on "Busted Open After Dark." Podcast, Dreamer stated;
The Faction was Established in 2014
"New Day has had the most interesting turn I've seen in 20, 30 years, and have heat without doing physical body harm on somebody. They've literally hurt you with their words and the truth, what their version of the truth is. But, New Day has done it right. If you think about it, how much you hated the New Day, one of the top babyfaces asks for you guys to be quiet for a second and you don't even pay him that respect. That's how much hatred you guys have."
Big E was abandoned out of Faction on the 10th anniversary of the faction
"New Day has really changed their career and done their turn different. They did it new, and what have they really done? They just hurt you with their words; wait till they start taking out your WWE Superstars. If done right, these two guys could have the most amount of heat in a long, long time," Dreamer said.
The faction has worked as heels previously, but this heel turn is completely different from whatever they did since their first day. The potential of this angle is definitely huge, just like Tommy Dreamer predicted, this new angle can establish Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston as two of the most heated heels.
