WWE created history last Monday when they moved Monday Night RAW to Netflix. This was the first time the promotion was working on an OTT platform regularly. The premiere of the show was also excellent as it featured some actioned packed matches along with some big returns of WWE Hall of Famers like The Rock, The Undertaker, and Hulk Hogan.
The promo that featured on the beginning of the show was also iconic as it showed footages from the glorious past of WWE along with an excellent background promo speech. This promo package was praised massively by the fans and the critics worldwide but there was something really controversial about it that made the fans confused.
Triple H Reflects on Controversial Promo From Netflix RAW Premiere
In this promo package, WWE openly used behind the kayfabe terms like ‘babyface’ and ‘heel’ which was really shocking. Such terms are never used publicly by a renowned promotion like before. Naturally, this promo sparked controversies. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H responded to this controversy while speaking on Netflix Raw post-show press conference;

"The reaction seems like we did a good job with it," Triple H explained. "That was the intent, to capture the emotion and let people know, we're not hiding what we do. I saw a lot of chatter today from people saying, 'Oh my God, they said heel and face and shoot and work in one promo.' We're not hiding what we do. That's what we do."
Triple H is presently working as the Chief Content Officer of WWE
"To be honest, I think most of the world understands those terms and they've almost transcended our business," the former wrestler continued. "It's transcended our business. It's what it is, people know what we are. We talk about it. We're not insulting anybody's intelligence. We're an art form. Absolutely an art form that captures people's emotions. We don't take ourselves as seriously as most other people take us."
"It was all part of trying to capture that and say, 'If you've watched, watch this and hopefully we honor what you love," he concluded. "If you've never watched this, watch this, we'll explain to you what we are.' That was the attempt." Triple H concluded.
WWE Netflix RAW premiere created more controversies, one of them was the questionable babyface turn of The Rock. He was set to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 according to reports and WWE built this feud throughout the year, but now the reports are coming out that this match is not happening anymore. This is the reason Rock turned babyface in a questionable way.
