During the early days of Cena, the duo could not come close to each other since they were working on two different brands. At WrestleMania 22, Triple H got the opportunity to challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship. The duo faced each other in the main event of the show where they created history. This match is still considered one of the best main events in WrestleMania history. It was the first time the duo faced each other.
Triple H Discusses How His Mind Set is Similar to John Cena
They got the opportunity to face each other multiple times and every time they work together in a WWE ring, they created history. Recently, The Cerebral Assassin appeared on the “SI Media” podcast where he was asked about his long time rival John Cena. The Game explained how he and Cena shared similar mind set. He said;

“John had the same sort of mindset that I did at the end, where I just want to go to all the places I went sort of that meant something and sort of go there one more time, almost like to say thank you to those people … it’s not about," Triple H continued,
"I got to main event WrestleMania one more time or I’ve got to be the main event of this TV show or I’ve gotta win the title again … it’s one last loop, it’s one last tour that lasts a year, it’s one last time to go to all those big markets that hopefully he wants to go to.”
Triple H and John Cena had been big rivals of their prime time
John Cena appeared on the Netflix RAW premiere where he started his retirement tour. He already announced that he would retire in 2025. They are had been a massive demand of a potential 17th world title reign by which he could surpass the record of Ric Flair. Cena had been the only wrestler in WWE history to win WWE World titles for 16 times in total.
During his Netflix RAW premiere speech, Cena announced that he would be participating in the Royal Rumble match of 2025 and he would try to win the Royal Rumble match so that he can challenge for the WWE World Championship at WrestleMania 41. Rumours are really high that he would go on to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
