Last year at the Money in the Bank event, John Cena made a surprise appearance to make a shocking announcement; he would be retiring by 2025. It was heartbreaking news for his fans as he is only 47 right now and by the end of the year he will be 48. He looks to be in great shape and it feeld like he would easily continue his career for at least five more years.

But Cena seemed like he is determined this time as he haalready started his retirement tour at the Netflix RAW premiere. In addition to that, he announced his participation in the men's Royal Rumble match at the upcoming Royal Rumble event. He has his desire to win the Royal Rumble match so that he can challenge a World Champion of his choice at WrestleMania 41.

The Undertaker Speaks Out: How John Cena's Farewell Tour Would Go

It has been reported that Cena would be active in WWE for the rest of the year and by the end of 2025 he would be out of in ring action forever. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker who had been one of the earliest rivals of Cena career reflected on this retirement tour. Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman explained how it may go;

“I think it’s going to be a great swansong year for him. I think it will be the equivalent to like they have done in the NBA, all the legends on their last year and they get to go to all these different towns and get their flowers in each town. Cena was a workhorse, huge star for a lot of years and I think it’s really cool the way they have this kind of laid out.

"I don’t expect anything crazy. I think he’s gonna get some good wins I think he’s gonna take some L’s, but I think overall it’s gonna be great for the WWE fanbase. A lot of time guys will announce their retirement and that’s it, or they come back and retire again. I don’t know anybody personally like that [laughs].”

There are reports that John Cena is going to win the men's Royal Rumble match this year and he would go on to challenge for the Undisputed WWE World Championship on the main event of WrestleMania 41. The fans are expecting to see Cena finally go through the long awaited heel run in his final year; something that the fans have been waiting to see for more than a decade.
