The cheapest 5G phone in India Itel P55 launched with a sub-10K price tag

Over the last few years, the price of smartphones with 5G support has fallen steadily. Now, you can easily grab a capable mid-range 5G smartphone for around INR 15000. Those with a modest budget can also buy 5G smartphones. However, you will be hard-pressed to find a model below the INR 10000 mark as that territory is meant for older 4G devices. In the latest move, Itel has unveiled the cheapest 5G smartphone in India, with an alluring price tag of INR 9,699.

The new Itel P55 is likely to woo smartphone users upgrading from their 4G devices and seeking a cheap 5G model. For its modest price tag, the device has a lot to offer. It is powered by a decent MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC and sports a HD+ 6.6-inch 90Hz display. The device ships with 4-6 GB RAM and 128 GB inbuilt storage. As for imaging, you get a dual camera setup at the back with a 50MP main rear sensor.

Inside the Itel P55, sits a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Connectivity-wise, you get a lot for the price. There are USB-C port, Bluetooth, GPS and Dual-Band Wi-Fi. 

The Itel P55 comes in Blue or Green hues. The 4GB + 64GB variant will cost you INR 9,699 and the 6GB + 128GB costs only INR 300 more. You can buy them on Amazon starting October 4, 2023. The brand offers a 2-year warranty and you also get a VIP screen replacement offer. A higher-end model Itel S23+ has also been launched with the price tag of IBR 13999.
