Recently, WWE released a number of talents, some of those talents were regular who used to appear on their main roster shows weekly. A large number of fans are quite frustrated with these releases, especially, releasing British talent Blair Davenport sparked a lot of controversies and fingers have started to be pointed on WWE management.

Another star that had been a regular in the main roster had been released and it was the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sonya Deville who had always been quite impressive. Some fans were quite shocked with the release of Deville as she was doing quite well after she started leading the faction Pure Fusion Collective.

Sonya Deville Finally Opens Up: Shocking Reaction About Her WWE Release

Since WWE recently introduced a new mid card division for women, Deville could have been a great fit for it. We were yet to hear from Deville following her release from the promotion. Finally, she talked about it on her YouTube channel and revealed that she was equally shocked as the fans after getting to know about her release. Here is what she had to say;

Sonya Deville remained active in WWE for nearly a decade

“I got the call. My contract was not being renewed with the WWE. I got the phone call. We were in the middle of negotiations, so I thought the phone call was going to be middle ground that we met on. An agreement on a contract. It was, ‘We are not renewing your contract.’ I was shocked.

“At the end of the day, it’s a business. I think business-minded. For whatever the reason is, I don’t know the reason, and I could sit here and try to come up with one or guess. ‘It was definitely that. I said or did that.’ I put 150% effort in the entire ten years, but most importantly the last three. I went down to the Performance Center on my own time. Moved there for two months to train to get the rust off.”

After her statement came out, some fans started asking questions what was it for her to negotiate when she was not even a draw in WWE. If WWE was offering her a contract, she should have accepted it, no matter how much money she was offered. Some fans on the other hand are still with Sonya Deville’s side and they believe the promotion should have kept her.
