Racism has always been a big issue in the United States of America. In almost every field there had been racism. Your favourite show WWE was no different. A lot of wrestlers of color talked about facing racism during their WWE careers. The issue was present back then even more. But it is believed that things are improving a little.

One of the wrestlers who recently talked about facing racism from WWE is the WWE Hall of Famer D Von Dudley who is also a tag team legend. Dudley recently featured on the YouTube channel of former WWE star Maven where he revealed that he also had to face racism during his WWE career;

"I encountered my own racism in WWE, I hate say it, but I did with certain people that were in the office that were higher up. It was never Vince, it was never John Laurinaitis, it was never Michael Hayes, but there were individuals during that time during the Attitude Era that basically said that they didn't like me because I was black," said Dudley.

"Told me to my face a couple of times," he added. "The person said that he didn't like me 'cause I was black, and told Bubba [Ray Dudley], you know, started off by saying, 'Bubba, you're a good guy. I like you, I like you a lot. But, D-Von, I don't know.' [Others told the racist person] D-Von's a good guy,' [the racist person replied] 'But, he's black, you know?' I remember balling up my fist and Bubba felt it and saw and grabbed me."

D Von Dudley is a 10 times Tag Team Champion in WWE

D Von Dudley is one of the biggest Tag Team legends in professional wrestling history. He and his tag team partner Bubba Ray Dudley were famously known as The Dudley Boyz. Together they won a total of 10 Tag Team titles in WWE. The Dudley Boyz were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Dudley also work as a backstage producer in WWE after retiring from in ring action. It was Dudley who completely managed the WWE 24/7 Championship segment. In January 2023 he announced on Twitter that he decided to leave WWE. But he made a couple of returns to the promotion after he stopped working as a producer, including a shocking appearance as Reverend D-Von; one of the forgotten gimmicks he played back in 2002.
