Vince McMahon remains a father figure for WWE over the years but after his departure in 2022, he is being accused of many things. His latter project was also not much fancied by the WWE fans and majority of the fans was totally bored with it. Triple H overtaking the creative felt more like a breath of fresh air.
Former WWE star Mustafa Ali also shared his grudge for Vince McMahon recently. He had an angle in 2020 where he formed a faction named Retribution and it was a heel faction for Monday Night RAW. It looked pretty promising at first, and it looked like Ali would finally get the push he deserves.

But ultimately, Retribution was a big failure much like many angles of that time and none of the members could achieve anything from this storyline. Ali recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet on his “Insight” Podcast where he discussed the failure of Retribution and he blamed Vince McMahon for it;

“Did I know it was going to fail? I know we had our work cut out for us. I know the names weren’t pleasant, the masks weren’t pleasant, and it was kind of even more frustrating because there were so many talented individuals underneath these things.”

“I had tried to save RETRIBUTION and Vince approved it at first but it just never made air. RETRIBUTION failed because there wasn’t a why, there was never a why, Vince lost interest in it, not my story to tell. There was a power struggle between people and RETRIBUTION was affected because of that.”
WWE attempted to push Mustafa Ali multiple times, he was even scheduled to win the WWE Championship at a point, but nothing worked for him and even having a seven year career in WWE, Ali could never win any championship from the promotion. He left WWE in 2023 and presently he is active on the independent circuit.
