90s’ top singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya was once known as the voice of Shah Rukh Khan. Throughout the 90s and 2000s Abhijeet has sung most of the songs for King Khan and at a point, fans could not imagine a movie of him with Abhijeet.
But at the end of 2000s, their professional and personal relationship both came to an end after multiple issues. Abhijeet always expressed his disappointment on this issue and he also released a statement once that he would never sing for King Khan again, and he never did.
Shah Rukh Khan Gets Bashed Again By Abhijeet! Singer Makes Controversial Claim
But King Khan had always been a little ignorant about this issue. There are not many examples where he spoke about his feud with Abhijeet despite the famous singer has always been critical about Khan.
Once again Abhijeet gave a controversial remark while speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast when he said that King Khan did not have any memorable songs after they stopped working together. Here is what the 1998 Filmfare Award Winner had to say;
Abhijeet was Known as Shah Rukh Khan's Voice Once
“I’m older than him, he could come and hug me. I wasn’t expecting an apology, but he could come and say, ‘Ho gaya yaar, chal yaar (come on), we’ll play together again’. But people choose to ignore me. I wasn’t feeling anger; I was hurt.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Abhijeet Never Worked Together After Om Shanti Om
“After I said that, Lungi (Dance) came out…obviously, I wouldn’t sing that. But, you remind me of any song of his that you’re still listening to after me, Udit (Narayan) and (Kumar) Sanu sang for him. Chak De India is not a typical Shah Rukh album, and the new songs aren’t on par with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Darr, or Yes Boss. Vo cheez nahi hain abhi (It’s not the same).”
Despite being one of the biggest names in Playback singing of the 90s and 2000s, Abhijeet’s career somehow met a downfall after his relationship with Shah Rukh Khan collapsed. He may not be as popular as he was during his prime, no one can deny he had been one of the most talented singers that ever worked in the Indian film industry.
