Samsung has two variants of watches with a huge price difference but similar traits and facilities such as screen size, weight, or design which are compared here.
Design and screen of Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Galaxy Watch 7
Despite a 2 years difference in launching Galaxy Watch 7 pro resembles 5 pro in terms of design and screen as both have Super AMOLED screen. The size of Watch 5 Pro is 45mm with a titanium bezel and the 7 Pro comes with two options of 40mm or 44mm made from aluminum.
A sapphire crystal layer is present in both watches along with a 5ATM and IP68 rating protecting watches from scratch, water, and dust. The side-facing tactile physical controls of the watches make a convenient pause or stop of workout.
Health Tracking and Other Features in Samsung Watch
Both watches are connected to the Samsung Health Monitor app for tracking health metrics. The difference is Watch 5 Pro has “turn-by-turn GPS navigation” and Watch 7 has “dual-frequency GPS”. The turn-by-turn navigation needs to create a map file with the help of a third-party app and transfer it to the watch to make a hands-free travel that has been upgraded to watch 7.
There is a bioactive sensor in the previous version of the app that has been upgraded to a new and improved sensor for health tracking and ECG in Watch 7. The new Energy score offers a physical score based on the activity level and health rating.
Battery life
Watch 5 Pro has a 590mAh battery capacity that can give up to two days of battery life by charging once. However, the Watch 7 has 425mAh of battery capacity allowing around 16 days of battery tenure which is slightly lower than 5. Watch 7 comes with a fast charging facility as it takes only 1 hour to get charged and that for Watch 5 pro is 1 hour and 22 mins.
Finally, it can be suggested that the Watch 7 is a better choice with an upgraded version and facility. Despite having low battery life it is more convenient than 5 Pro as Watch 5 Pro is costlier. It costs £429/$449.99 and Watch 7 costs only £289/$299 which makes it the first choice for it.
