Despite showing promises at first, AEW slowly started to decline. One of the biggest reason behind this issue is relying on legends, better say older wrestlers on the main event and upper mid card segment rather younger talents. One of the new name that is merging towards the main event scene of the promotion is WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett.

“I met him in '90 when I was 19, when I was in USWA, and I just thought of him as already being older, established, I thought of him as being a veteran even though he probably wasn't, but just because he had the — him and Robert Fuller had the Tag Team Championships. They were the big babyfaces everyone night, his daddy, his dad was the promoter, and so he had that number one babyface push kind of position, and because of that, I just thought of him as like already being a veteran and s**t."

Jarrett, 57, is not the first legend who is featuring on the main event scene of AEW. Previously, older wrestlers like Chris Jericho and Christian Cage has also done it. Adam Copeland who is more famous under the ring name Edge is also being pushed as a top star of AEW. To compete with a promotion like WWE, AEW has to focus more on younger wrestlers.
