Video game publisher 2K had been continuing this series for over 2 decades, and it had been one of their flagship series. Since its initial release in 2002, the Mafia series has been a huge fan favourite.
The first part of the Mafia series remains a cult classic, and it became mostly famous for its amazing storyline. The amazing journey of Tom from being a normal Taxi Driver to one of the biggest Mafias of the time was really fascinating.

2K took eight long years to release their second part of the famous Mafia series. This game also became a huge hit. Set after World War 2, it portrayed the story of two friends who became America's most wanted after they joined the underworld for a shortcut to success.

Mafia 3 was released in 2016, and it was the worst received game of the series. The majority of the fans did not like this video game for its repetitive and monotonous gameplay. D storyline of Mafia 3 was not as impressive as its first two counterparts. But even after the failure of Mafia 3, 2K did not give up on the series since it was one of their biggest hits.
Mafia: The Old Country is rumoured to release by mid 2025
In 2020, 2K released the Mafia Trilogy, where they published a remastered version of the first part of the game by the name Mafia Definitive Edition. After seeing the success of the Trilogy, they announced the fourth part of the series by the name Mafia: The Old Country. The storyline of this upcoming video game focuses on 1900s Sicily.
