Mohammed Siraj Reacts to ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Exclusion with Domestic Cricket Focus
The shocking news, that Mohammed Siraj dropped from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad has stunned lots of his fans even after performing enough strongly in BGT (Bordar Gavaskar Trophy, 2024-25). As per the latest update from TOI source, Rohit Sharma, Captain of the Indian Men’s Cricket Team has stated in a press conference, that he (Mohammed Siraj) is not effective with old balls and hence he is not fit in the squad for this upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

In the BGT, if the performance of Siraj is calculated then he has taken 20 wickets with an average of 31.15, in 5 matches by conceding 623 runs. He was the second-highest wicket-taker from India after Jasprit Bumrah in BGT 2024-25.
Although Rohit Sharma has concluded that at this time with Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami (return of the veteran) could be the perfect match for the league and hence Siraj has been rested.
Mohammed Siraj is back to Domestic Cricket
However, despite of decision taken by the board not to include Mohammed Siraj in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, he was expecting to be included in the last two ODIs Vs England in the Upcoming home series, which will take place from Feb 06, 2025, after five T20s.
Siraj was dropped from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, meanwhile, he has decided to continue playing domestic cricket. According to the report, he will represent Hyderabad in their final Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha. However, he has decided to skip the upcoming fixture against Himachal Pradesh due to workload management. An Official has reported that “He will not play the first game due to workload issues but is likely to turn up for the last game against Vidarbha.”
