WWE introduced two mid card championships for women for the first time in the main roster of WWE and they have decided to keep one title for RAW and the other title for SmackDown. To crown the two new champions, they organised two 12 women tournament. The Smackdown counterpart is the WWE Women's United States Championship.
12 women from SmackDown participated in this tournament and Michin Mia Yim was a part of it. She had been extremely impressive from the very first day of entering the tournament and she even reached the final of the tournament. But ultimately she was beaten by Chelsea Green in the final, feeling to capture the WWE Women's United States Championship.
Michin Remembers Picking Up Big Victory Over Present Champion Previously
But in most cases, Yim defeated Chelsea Green so it looked like it is going to be an easy win for Yim. One of they are previous matches where Yim totally mastered Green was a Dumpster match which took place in an episode of Smackdown in October where Yim was victorious. Yim remembered this match when she spoke on “The Wrestling Classic” podcast. She said;
“With Chelsea and the Dumpster Match, oh my goodness. We’ve had such a long history that I can’t imagine…so the dumpster was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. So when I saw it, I was like, oh boy. Chelsea might hit her head, and that’s not what I want to do to her. But I think because me and Chelsea, we joke all the time because we can communicate with each other without even speaking, which is crazy. But that’s just how our history has formed.”

“So it’s like I’m just glad it’s with Chelsea because we both trust each other to the point where it’s like, yeah, you can throw me in that little old dumpster. I know you’re not gonna hit my head. It’s like, oh great, pressure’s on me.

But I’d never had a dumpster match before, so it just felt like someone released me into a ball pit to just go and have fun. I told her, even though you won [the title] and we had all these special moments, just know I’m not gonna stop chasing you, so this isn’t over.”

A large number of fans are not happy with the defeat of Michin in the final of the mentioned tournament but most of the fans also agreed to the fact that Green also deserved to win the Championship. Besides, Green is just the inaugural champion, from now on, the Championship will keep on changing hands. We can definitely expect to see Michin winning the Championship in the future.
