There had been a constant demand for a mid card championship for the women’s division since there was absolutely no utilization of the mid carders of the women’s division. But for some reason, Vince McMahon was really against introducing new championships after a time. He even omitted the mid card championships in the men’s division in 2002.
But Triple H wants to work hard and he believes in giving opportunities to everyone. Finally, he listened to the fans and introduced not one but two mid card championships for the women’s division, one for each brand. Smackdown got the women’s counter part of the WWE United States Championship.
Michin Explains Why Women’s United States Championship is Important For The Women’s Division
The present women’s roster of WWE has a high depth and only one World title and a common tag team title was not enough to cater everyone. Smackdown star Michin lost in the finals of the Women’s US title tournament and presently she is stepping up to challenge Chelsea Green for the title.
There are beliefs among the fans that Michin Mia Yim will surely win the title soon in the future. She worked pretty hard and she definitely deserves to win the title. Yim recently spoke to "Going Ringside" where she explained the importance of the Women’s United States Championship. Here is what she had to say;

"I think that it's great for women's wrestling, especially now because there's so many talented women," Yim explained. "There's a lot of us that we either don't have time or there's no place for us on the top end just yet. So at least now we have something to focus on and something to chase and something to showcase during the show. ... this is only positive for us."
Michin Challenged Chelsea Green for the Women's US title last week on Smackdown
"This year, 2024, was a year of recognition for people to know what I can do and to bring in new eyes," Yim said. "Next year, 2025, is going to be the year of redemption. I was so close to that Women's U.S. Championship that I could taste it. I'm not going to stop until I get it."

Monday Night RAW has also introduced their own version of a women’s mid card title in form of the women’s counter part of the Intercontinental Championship. A 12 woman tournament had been announced to crown the inaugural champion it is yet to be crowned. The final of the tournament will take place at RAW Netflix Premier.
