Manu Bhakar, D.Gukesh Will Be Adorned With The Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna: Sports Ministry
In addition to Manu Bhakar, D.Gukesh, the Indian Mens Hockey Team captain Harmanpreet Singh and Para athlete Praveen Kumar will be in the list of Khel Ratna.
Manu Bhakar who has been in the news for past few days for her stern attitude towards the Sports Ministry regarding the recipient list for Khelratna, now cited a part of warm wishes and thank you.
Manu Bhakar's Grief to Glory:
"With regards to ongoing issue for my nomination for the most prestigious Khel Ratna award-I would like to state that as an athlete my role is to play and perform for my country. Awards and recognition keeps me motivated but are not my goal. I believe there has been a lapse, maybe on my part while filing for the nomination which is being corrected. Irrespective of the award I shall remain motivated to win more medals for my country. It is a request to everyone, please do not speculate on this matter," Manu Bhaker wrote in a post on X.
Manu Bhakar, 22 years old athlete has set the record in the Olympics to achieve two medals in a single edition for India. In the 10 mtr. Shooting she glorified India's medals tally list with two consecutive Bronze.
