Haaland’s opener in 12 minutes reclaimed the only goal of the match due to the efficient goalkeeper of both goalkeepers who saved a total of 10 goal chances throughout the match. Ederson made 6 saves and Vicario made 4 to keep the scoreline low. Manchester City kept their second clean sheet in the last 10 games in all competitions.
Tottenham dominated the second half against City but failed to score an equaliser that caused difficulties for Ange Postecoglou to finish within the top 10 in the league despite having a positive start in the league this season.

Ange stated “It’s disappointing to lose again and that’s the main feeling. We were really relentless. We played aggressive football. That level of performance in the second half, if we can begin to get consistent with that then we will be able to push on.”
Haaland expressed his relief after the win stating, “Yeah, important win and happy to be back. I feel good. Of course it’s been a tough last few weeks but that’s life. We should have scored more goals and I think we should have finished the game”.
City now secured 47 points, getting the fourth position with 1 point difference with Nottingham Forest who are the next opponent for Guardiola. Winning against Nottingham will help City to get third position in the table having only Arsenal and Liverpool above them.
