Konami’s CastleVania is one of the most beloved franchises among the gamers and the famous franchise has produced some of the best horror games in the previous years. The last major title of the Vania series released back in September 2014. Since then there has not been any major release from the series.
Of course there had been some rereleases every now and then like the latest release of CastleVania Dominus Collection back in August 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It reimagined some of the previous famous games of the franchise.

The Vania series is in existence since 1986 by the title “CastleVania” which was first released for the famous Japanese console Famicom and later ported to its American counterpart NES aka Nintendo Entertainment System. It was an instant hit and for the last four decades it had been one of the most famous video game franchises.
The last major release of the series was Lords of Shadow 2 as mentioned previously. This game ended in a cliffhanger making it clear that the game will have its next installment soon. But the fans of the series kept on waiting for more than ten years and Konami did not drop any major update on this matter.

But the company did not announce any such news of discontinuing the series either, so there is always a possibility of a potential release of the third installment of the famous Lords of Shadow series which will continue the story of Lords of Shadow 2 and tell us the next part of this exciting tale.

The first installment of the Lords of Shadow series was a massive hit which was released for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. The game also had a spinoff named Mirror of Fate. Lords of Shadow 2 did not receive as much acclamation from the critics and the gamers as the first part but it was a decent continuation.
Recently, there had been rumors that Konami are finally planning to continue their marquee series with a third major installment of the Lords of Shadow series. But there has not been any concrete news on its potential release date. The much awaited return of this famous series would have really delightful for the fans of this long running franchise.
