WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash may have earned most of his success during his WCW days where he had been a five times WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He was a top star of the promotion during its golden time period and he was one of the leading names of the promotion when the famous Monday Night Wars was at its peak.
But before joining WCW, Nash was a famous name in WWE and he had been promoted as a main event star in the promotion as well. He played the character of Diesel in WWE which was not much different from his WCW character anyway. He even got to hold the WWE Championship for nearly a year.
Kevin Nash Explains Which Stars Contributed The Most To His 'Diesel' Character
Despite being pushed as one of the top stars of WWE during his time, his WWE Championship reign and his WWE run are not much praised either. But Vince McMahon was determined to push him as a top star of the promotion. When he was active in WWE, the promotion was going through its worst time period and most of the stars that were pushed to the main event failed miserably.
Kevin Nash was famously known as Diesel in WWE
Nash started his WWE career as the bodyguard of Shawn Michaels when he was playing the character of Diesel. Later he had a feud with The Heart Break Kid and the duo event faced each other at WrestleMania 11 where Nash was victorious. In a recent episode of "Kliq This" Podcast, Nash explained which wrestlers were 'instrumental' towards his Diesel character;

"Scott [Hall] and Shawn [Michaels] were the most instrumental because when I was the Diesel character and was the bodyguard outside," Nash stated, "It was just the three of us traveling that I just basically watched the entire process. How you talked about the match in the car, how you went into the building, changed the things, went to the ring, worked the match, came back, tweaked, took out, so it was just from a psychology, work — just to learn the proper way to do the whole process."
In 2011, Kevin Nash reinvented his Diesel character in WWE when he returned as Diesel during the Royal Rumble match of 2011. He even had to big feud with Triple H and CM Punk upon his return in the mentioned year. But this run was not much success either. Moreover, he is more famous than Kevin Nash among the wrestling fans and he also achieved more success while playing the character of Nash.
