John Cena vs Cody Rhodes had been the most anticipated match of WrestleMania 41 as this was the first WrestleMania match of Cena where he performed as a heel. Also, it was Cena's first heel Run after 22 long years. So the excitement was reaching the sky.
But unfortunately, the match was not up to the mark; in fact, it is already considered to be one of the worst WrestleMania main events of all time. After the overbooked main event of WrestleMania 40, every fan was expecting something similar this year as well. They expected to see interference from big legends this year to much like last year.

WWE Hall of Famer shared his idea on how he would have booked John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41
There were many rumours that we may finally get to see the much awaited Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock faceoff that fans were expecting last year, too. But unfortunately, no such thing happened, at the only interference we got to see was from Travis Scott, which made the fans even angrier.
John Cena turned heel after more than two decades at Elimination Chamber
A lot of fans and pundits have expressed their disappointment with this year's WrestleMania main event. WWE Hall of Famer recently talked about the much criticized main event of WrestleMania 41 on the “Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, where he explained how he would have booked this match. He said;

John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to win the Undisputed WWE Championship
“Well, I don’t really know what to say about that, you know what I mean, to involve Travis Scott in it. I like that, don’t get me wrong. But I mean, something as serious as the World Title there, I don’t think I would have used Travis Scott.
“I think I would have, maybe, come up with another finish there or something where, maybe, Cody, you know, slipped, as we said back in the day, ‘slipped on the banana peel.’ Boom… Cena takes advantage of it… one-two-three!”

John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes was indeed disappointing, but we believe there is something darker about this match which majority of the fans failed to understand. Maybe it was all set just to kill the limitless excitement from main events of the future WrestleMania events that were set last year. Maybe, everything was on purpose.
