After Triple H became in charge of WWE, not many stars could rise up to top stars as there had been constant criticism for the Cerebral Assassin that he was relying on previous stars more than creating new stars. Of course, there had been some exceptions like LA Knight and the present World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

Another wrestler who became a huge sensation during Triple H’s run as the Chief Content Officer had been the tag team specialist Jey Uso who reinvented himself as a singles wrestler recently. He has been extremely over with the fans in the last couple of years and he was rewarded for his hard work as he won the men’s Royal Rumble match 2025.

Jey Uso

Jey Uso’s Recent Success Not Only Stands on ‘Yeet’ Claims WWE Hall of Famer

But there had been a constant claim that Jey became over with the fans because of his catchphrase ‘Yeet’ which had definitely been quite successful in the recent time. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi who is also the father of Jey recently claimed that ‘Yeet’ catchphrase is not the only reason behind the success of Jey. Speaking on his “Off The Top” podcast recently, he said;

Jey Uso is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion

“I felt Jey made the right decision. There’s history between him and GUNTHER. After not getting the job done in two opportunities, this means something now. You’re getting the third time to crack at this thing here, but the only difference is that it’s on the biggest stage of them all. So, I don’t see anything else but the best performance ever from Jey going into WrestleMania.

Jey Uso Gunther WrestleMania 41

Jey Uso won the men’s Royal Rumble match of 2025

“I mean, we’ve seen a lot of great matches from Jey with his brother Jimmy, tag teaming and that history. We really kind of opened our eyes when, during the pandemic, you had this kid here with him and Roman, when they had their little dance-off together, going as a single.

"That was the first time Jey was introduced to being a singles competitor, due to his brother being out on an injury. It was there that I saw the skills of Jey to be able to adapt in front of a crowd that’s not there but on the TV screen.”

Jey Uso’s Royal Rumble victory is widely considered the most shocking outcome in Royal Rumble history. He has already announced that he would challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. So far, it looks quite predictable that Jey will win the World title, all we can expect is an amazing match at ‘The Grandest of Them All.’
