Royal Rumble 2025 had the potential to be the best Rumble event in history, mostly because of the line up of the men’s Rumble match. It had one of the strongest line ups in Rumble history, and it was compared to the likes of Rumble 1992 and 2001 for its line up and of course, the potential it had.
It was debatable if it could match the greatness of the mentioned Rumble matches but everyone will definitely remember it for being one of the most shocking Rumble matches in WWE history. Everybody expected either John Cena or CM Punk to win the Rumble. The Rock, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and even Roman Reigns were among the favorites.
Jey Uso Receives Praise From His Biggest Rival For Winning The Royal Rumble Despite Being an Underdog
But nobody expected Jey Uso could shock the entire world by winning such a star studded Royal Rumble match. Uso’s Rumble victory received mixed reactions from the fans but we hope he delivers a great match at WrestleMania 41. Uso’s WrestleMania 41 opponent Gunther recently praised him for winning the Rumble. Speaking with The Daily Mail recently, The Ring General;
“I think the Rumble was packed like never before. With Jey, there was basically the underdog winning in all of this. But also, on the other hand, he’s maybe the most popular guy we have right now, and people would really want to see him succeed. And they’re strapped in to follow him along this whole ride to WrestleMania now. There’s all those dream matches out there.

“But on the other hand, I think if you have somebody like Jey that has such a movement behind him and such support from the audience, you have got to do something with that. And it just creates a special situation that you cannot make up. This either happens or it doesn’t happen, and when it’s there, you have to do something with it. I think it’s good that it happened. But on the other side, I say stay away from me.

“I must have wrestled him, I don’t know, 30, 40 times including live events. And I’ve got to give it to him, in general, he’s a very likable guy, easy to talk to, and very warm to other people, always very friendly and very nice. It almost reminds me a little bit when Daniel Bryan had the yes movement going. It’s a special situation right now. And good for him to be in that position right now. I think he deserves that. But like I said, leave me out.”

Soon after winning the Rumble, Jey Uso announced that he would challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. Uso and Gunther have already faced multiple times before and on every occasion, Gunther came out victorious, which somehow makes the match quite predictable that Uso will definitely win on this occasion and will become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
