JBL Thinks This Wrestling Legend Was As Charismatic As The Rock; “The Only Guy that I Know That Carried Himself Like The Rock”
Dwayne Johnson’s rise toward the main event and becoming a megastar is still a big example for every wrestler, and only the most promising gets compared to ‘The Great One.’ WWE Hall of Famer JBL recently remembered the late great Kerry Von Erich and compared him to Dwayne Johnson’s charismatic WWE career. Speaking on his “Something To Wrestle” Podcast, JBL explained the following;
The Rock is a 10 times WWE World Champion in WWE
“The Von Erich boys, the only ones I knew were Kerry and Kevin, and I got to work with both those two several times. They were fantastic guys. I don’t know anyone who would say anything bad about the Von Erich boys.

The Rock was a megastar of WWE during The Attitude Era
“Kerry was the only guy that I know that carried himself like The Rock. I don’t think The Rock does it on purpose, that was just god’s gift to The Rock, it was also god’s gift to Kerry Von Erich.” JBL said; “He would go through the airport and people would melt when they saw him. Kerry would humbly introduce himself to people and say ‘Hi, I’m Kerry Von Erich’ and people would just melt. It was unbelievable the charisma he had.”

Kerry Von Erich was one of the most promising names in the wrestling world throughout the 80s and early 90s. He belonged to the famous Von Erich wrestling family. He even had a short run in WWE where he was promoted as a promising young talent and he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship one time. Unfortunately, he decided to take his own life at the age of 33 only.
