Ever since Triple H became in charge of WWE, he has done a great job of connecting new fans to WWE. But one criticism he constantly receives is that he is failing to promote new stars and only relying on established stars only. The accusation is somehow true but there are actually a number of stars that Triple H actually built as top names.

One such name is the present World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Ever since joining WWE, The Austrian professional wrestler received massive praise for his amazing in ring work. He created history soon after joining the main roster as he became the longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion, beating the previous record set by The Honky Tonk Man.

2024 was also an excellent year for ‘The Ring General’ as he won the King of The Ring tournament as well as the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam. Wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker had been a big fan of the Ring General and he shared his views many times. Even while speaking with Collider recently, The Undertaker praised Gunther again;

“It’s not about the least amount of effort—it’s about not doing things that aren’t necessary. I don’t usually do this, but if you want a masterclass in psychology, in storytelling, in what wrestling is supposed to be, go watch WrestleMania 25—Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker. That match is the closest to perfect I’ve ever been.

“And despite the dive where I almost killed myself, that match still holds up. The psychology, the pacing, the storytelling—it’s all there. There are so many others. Eddie Guerrero was a master. He could work any style and tell a compelling story. And I’m glad you brought up GUNTHER because he’s my guy.

Jey Uso Gunther WrestleMania 41

The Austrian Professional Wrestler is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41

“GUNTHER could have worked 10 years ago, 20 years ago—hell, even 30 years ago—and he still would’ve been successful. He doesn’t waste movement. Everything he does means something. And you’re going to see that on LFG. He brings that same energy to the show, to the point where even the coaches are affected by it. That’s what makes him so special.”

The 37 year old is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41 against Jey Uso, who won the men’s Royal Rumble match and decided to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship. It may not have much excitement among the fans, but one thing we can all expect that this is going to be an amazing match, and that is mostly because of the presence of the Ring General.
