Last year, WWE organized the Elimination Chamber event at Australia and it was a massive success overall. Their top Australian wrestler Rhea Ripley successfully defended her Women’s World Championship in the main event of the show. Rhea Ripley can be considered the best Australian wrestler to ever work in WWE.
Another Australian WWE star who got an excellent opportunity to perform in his home country, was Grayson Waller. Despite not getting any match at the mentioned show, Waller got the chance to host his Grayson Waller Show at the event with Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes and then World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins as the special guests.
Grayson Waller Remembers His Performance from Elimination Chamber 2024
On the very next event, which was WrestleMania 40, Waller and his tag team partner Austin Theory went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championship in a Ladder match. Waller recently spoke with "The West Sport" where he talked about his performance at the Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia;
Grayson Waller is presently active in Smackdown
"Yeah, it was awesome, and obviously, getting to have all my mates and my family there was really cool," Waller mentioned. "I remember [Austin] Theory actually grabbed me at one stage and kind of said, 'Hey, man, like, take the moment and look.' You know, going from wrestling in front of 20 people in a shed in Newcastle and New South Wales to in front of 52,000 people was...very cool."
Grayson Waller is a former WWE Tag Team Champion
"I'm always going to be real," Waller clarified. "I think before I came over, I said I'm not going to be that guy who pretends to hate Australia because I'm a bad guy apparently on TV. I'm not a good guy. I'm not a bad guy. I'm a real guy." Concluded the former WWE Tag Team Champion.
Despite winning the WWE Tag Team titles at the Grandest Stage of Them All last year, Waller and his Tag Team partner Austin Theory failed to get consistent booking after dropping the tag team titles. As of now, it does not look like WWE has any big plans for this duo, at least nothing more than a tag team.
