Goldust, who is also known as Dustin Rhodes has been active in the world of professional wrestling for more than 3 decades and he has worked in major wrestling promotions like WWE and WCW. He is the elder son of WWE Hall of Famer "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and he is also the elder brother of the present Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes is presently active in All Elite Wrestling where he gets a legend's treatment and at the age of 55 he is still going pretty strong. He earned his early recognition while working in WCW as Dustin Rhodes. His first WWE run 1990-91 was not very successful but his second return to the promotion earned him major success when he started portraying the character of Goldust for the first time.

Goldust Shares His Retirement Plans, Also; His Idea of A Potential Retirement Match
The character was quite controversial and it was also pretty different in the time when it was played. But Rhodes and most of his success while portraying this controversial character and he had an excellent mid card run in WWE during his second return to the promotion. He is presently working in AEW and he is doing quite well at the age of 55. Recently he discussed his retirement plans and also a potential retirement match. Speaking with Tim & Eli on the “Battleground” podcast, he said;
“I have. I keep it close to the vest about my opponent. I have had this planned the last couple of years of who I want to finish up with. That’s going to take place in three years. It’s going to be tough to step away. By no means am I anywhere on Sting’s level, but I want that same kind of out. I think I’ve earned it. To finish it off on a pay-per-view and cut a heart-wrenching emotional promo after is what people like. It’s not like the old days. I want to win.
Goldust is a three times WWE Intercontinental Champion
"I want to win that last match. I don’t want to lose. It means a lot to me, and I have been putting a lot of thought into it. I would say probably about three years. Things change. We’ll see where they take us. It’s hard enough to even say, ‘It’s almost time, Dustin.’ That’s tough. It’s been part of my life for so long. It’s going to be very emotional.

"Getting out of the business is a big step because you’re changing something you’ve done for long. What do you do? You have to find things to do in the interim to keep your mind right. I’ll be coaching and still producing, which I’m doing right now anyway. I love that. Passing all my knowledge to the young kids, that’s the payoff. When I teach them something and they go out and do it and it works. That’s the payoff, me passing on my knowledge and experience to the younger generation.”
Rhodes had a great run in WCW before returning to WWE in 1995 and he even want multiple championships in WCW. But his Goldust character in WWE and him most of his fame. Having won the WWE Intercontinental Championship three times, he was one of the top mid cards of WWE during his time. We can definitely expect him to be in the WWE Hall of Fame soon.
