WWE Legend John Cena announced that he will retire in 2025 but he will also give his best for one last World Championship run. He is a 16 times World Champion in WWE which is tied with The Nature Boy Ric Flair. No other wrestler ever won more World titles in WWE or any other promotion that is recognized by WWE.

Cena is presently trying to surpass Ric Flair by winning at least one more World title in his last year in WWE. He started his retirement tour at Netflix RAW Premiere where he also announced his participation in the men’s Royal Rumble match, so that he could win it and challenge for a World title at WrestleMania 41.

But Cena failed to win the Rumble as “Main Event” Jey Uso was able to master him by eliminating “The Champ” at the end to win the Rumble match. This year’s men’s Rumble match will definitely go down as one of the most unpredictable Rumble matches ever. Former ECW World Champion Tommy Dreamer recently praised Cena’s Rumble work while speaking on "Busted Open Radio;"

Jey Uso eliminated John Cena to win the men's Royal Rumble 2025

"John Cena gave us one last Royal Rumble moment," said Dreamer. "We're never seeing it ever again. He went out there and told us a great story and endorsed the next John Cena, which a lot of guys don't do. But we saw this amazing performance from this guy who was the face of the company that we're never gonna see again."

"Just like you got to understand for the Elimination Chamber, [it] will be John Cena's last Elimination Chamber, and you need to appreciate that," Dreamer continued. "When baseball players announce their retirement, they go to all these different cities. they make a big deal of it. This was his last Royal Rumble you're ever going to see, and he went out the way a true superstar goes out."

It was announced on RAW last Monday that Cena will be participating in the men’s Elimination Chamber match at upcoming Elimination Chamber PLE. He did not have to wrestle in any qualifying matches, unlike other wrestlers who have already qualified or will qualify. Since it is Cena’s last year in WWE, he was given respect with a bye.
