Layla is a former champion in WWE who was one of the biggest attractions of The Divas Era of the promotion. The Divas Era of WWE was the time of the women's division during the PG Era of the promotion. Some of the top stars of WWE were discovered during the time and Layla was definitely one of them.

Layla remained active in WWE for nine long years. She made her WWE breakthrough by WWE Diva Search competition which was one of the biggest competitions back then. At first, she was seen doing managerial roles in WWE. One of her early managerial works that fans still remember was her alliance with William Regal.

Later, Layla became a top star of the women's division of WWE and she was indeed one of the biggest names of the Divas era of WWE. Despite being the top star of her time, she could not fulfill all of her WWE dreams. Speaking on No Name Wrestling Podcast recently, the formal WWE Women's champion revealed;

"I've said it before, I did want to be on 'Total Divas...' I'm sad I didn't accomplish [it], but it was the end of my, you know, the end of my career," El first stated. "I regret taking the title when I came back from an injury. I shouldn't have done that. I regret that I didn't change my character much.

Layla is a Former Champion who Retired in 2015

"I feel like I should have came back with a better character...I think I was just so happy that I was over that injury, you know what I mean? I didn't do the work, I think, to make myself a better character and a bigger Superstar." Concluded the former WWE Women's Champion.

Layla had been given a lot of success during her WWE run at she has also been recognised as the final WWE Women's champion; the title that was discontinued in 2010. She is also a former WWE Divas champion. But could she be a top star during the present day women's division of WWE? It can be debatable.
