The feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk is counted as the best feud of WWE from the year 2024. It continued for the whole year and it also featured a set of amazing matches. It all started at the Royal Rumble event of the mentioned year where Punk got injured at the hands of McIntyre and it sidelined him from action for months. The injury even rules him out of WrestleMania 40.
McIntyre on the other hand took pride in driving Punk out of action and it came out in the form of one of the best storyline build ups of 2024. The feud lasted until the Bad Blood event of October where Punk ended the feud by defeating McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell, and also closed this long chapter between him and The Scottish Psychopath.

Drew McIntyre Looks Back at Vince McMahon Reference And Revealed What He Wanted To Say to CM Punk Through it
But during the early days of this feud, when Punk was out of action, McIntyre cut a controversial promo. During an episode of RAW from March, McIntyre addressed CM Punk and said “Who chose you? What was his name?” The reference was clear despite he did not mention the name. Recently, McIntyre spoke with Inside the Ropes where he remembered this moment and explained the internal meaning of this mention;
“What’s going through my mind is – ‘The same person that fired you on your wedding day.’ But I’m a professional. I think by that point, people started seeing what I was capable of on the microphone like it was a new thing. If you watched my stuff outside of WWE, you know when I’m comfortable and the reins are taken off me. I don’t care who it is, I can go toe to toe with anyone. Even Punk.”
Drew McIntyre and CM Punk had a long feud throughout 2024
Drew McIntyre also talked about his first interview segment with CM Punk; “If you watch the first interview we had, the look in his eyes throughout the promo and how much it changed, you realise this is not the same kid that was an arse so many years ago. He was ready that night, I was ready that night and we went back and forth and back and forth, just hitting each other with these lines.

The feud ended at Bad Blood 2024 inside Hell in a Cell where CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre to settle the score
“And again, this is not something that’s written on a piece of paper like you say this and I’ll say that. This is just two guys going for it, two guys that have got some banter, and two guys that genuinely don’t like each other in a place as hot as Chicago where Punk’s from.” Concluded the 39 year old.
Once again, these two old rivals have a huge chance of getting face to face as both of them are scheduled to enter the men’s Elimination Chamber match this Saturday. They may not start a new feud from here but Drew McIntyre definitely has a huge chance to take his revenge by eliminating Punk from this match.
