Ever since the women’s revolution was introduced in WWE, the promotion somewhat stopped presenting women as objects. The Attitude Era was mostly famous for being the greatest time period in WWE history, but even during the Attitude Era, women were objectified and the process continued.
Top stars like Trish Stratus and Lita who are considered pioneers of the wrestling world were also objectified during the early days of their career. The situation for women started to improve after 2016 but there was no gender equality whatsoever. Men were always superior in WWE as long as Vince McMahon was in charge.
Current WWE Champion Thanks Triple H For Promoting Gender Equality Through His Work in WWE
But after Triple H got in charge of the creative division of WWE, he started pushing women parallel to men in the promotion. One of the biggest such examples was the introduction of the mid card division in WWE through two new women’s mid card championship titles.
One of the mid titles was the WWE Women’s United States Championship and the inaugural champion Chelsea Green thanked Triple H for promoting gender equality in WWE. Speaking on “The Sports Agents” podcast, Green said;
Triple H is managing the creative of WWE since 2022
“Well, I think you’re kind of talking about a whole different group of eras coming together. Because if we’re talking about Vince vs. Triple H, we’re also talking about Attitude Era vs. now, we’re talking about divas vs. women, we’re talking about Trish Stratus vs. me. I really think that, first of all, we would not be here without that side of things.
“We in 2025 would not have the success that we have if it wasn’t for that attitude era, the Bellas, Trish Stratus, Lita, Mickie James. They set the tone for us. I can’t speak on what their era was like because I wasn’t there, but now in this new era, I know that I come to work, I love my job, I feel safe, I feel supported.
Triple H is presently working as the Chief Content Officer of WWE
“Triple H makes women specifically feel absolutely equal to men. We are out there main eventing WrestleManias now, something that unfortunately that previous era didn’t get to experience. But, they set the table for us and now we’re enjoying these amazing meals and I couldn’t be happier.” Said Chelsea Green.
But is it really true that Levesque actually pushing women parallel to men? Women are still limited to two segments per show and in most of the PLEs, only men get to main event of the shows. During the time of Vince McMahon, women got to main event two separate WrestleMania events, so the situation for women was really not that bad in the end. Hopefully, women actually treated equal to men in the near future under Levesuque’s shelter.
