Umaga was one of the top stars of WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era and he was one of the major mid card of the promotion during his time. He was introduced to the WWE Universe as Jamal in 2002 when he teamed up with Rosey who was the elder brother of Roman Reigns. Together, they were known as The 3 Minute Warning.
Edward Fatu adopted the character of Umaga in 2005 and he had main event feuds with the likes of Kane and John Cena soon after debuting this character. He even won the WWE Intercontinental Championship two times. His feud with Bobby Lashley from 2007 still remains one of the best feuds of the time. It even involved Vince McMahon and Donald Trump.

Could Umaga Be a Part of The Bloodline? – Captivating Discussion By WWE Hall of Famer
There was a potential that Fatu might have been promoted to a top star of WWE but he could never elevate himself to anything more than a mid card. He was released from the promotion in June 2009. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi who belongs to the same family as Fatu recently discussed how Fatu could do as a member of The Bloodline. Speaking on his "Rikishi Fatu Off The Top" podcast, he said;
Umaga is a two times WWE Intercontinental Champion
"Hmmm, well, I would almost think that Umaga would probably be into the OG Bloodline. That, to me, makes sense, you know because he is one of those Usos that kind of, you know, had helped pave the way as well, after us coming through. Maybe he would have started his own Bloodline 3.0."

Edward Fatu passed away in January 2009
Fatu was let go of WWE in June 2009 but there were plans to bring him back in January 2010. He was supposed to be a part of the Royal Rumble match of 2010 as a surprise entrant. But unfortunately, he could never return to professional wrestling as he passed away in December 2009 at the age of 36 only.
Umaga’s son Zilla Fatu who is presently active on the independent circuit is heavily rumored to make his WWE debut soon. The 25 year old is quite successful in the indies, and he is expected to become a part of The Bloodline storyline once he joins WWE. Zilla Fatu’s in ring work is quite similar to his father and he has the potential to be a top star in the future.
