CM Punk created history by main eventing the iconic Netflix RAW premiere along with Seth Rollins and he also wrote his names on the history books by winning the first ever main event of the Netflix Era of Monday Night RAW. Despite wrestlers like Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre were also in action, WWE decided to go with Punk and Rollins for the main event.
But this is definitely not enough to satisfy Punk as it was reported long ago that his primary goal is to get the main event of WrestleMania. It was one of the biggest reasons behind his frustrations for leaving WWE in 2014. He felt robbed when he was left behind the main event of WrestleMania 28 and 29.

He was also planned to be left behind for WrestleMania XXX main event. Batista was originally planned to feature on the main event of the show and Punk was planned to face Triple H. This frustrated Punk to the core and he decided to leave. Finally The Best in the World returned to WWE after nearly ten years and reports suggest that all he wants is a WrestleMania main event.
Reports suggest that he was planned to main event the Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 but he got injured at Royal Rumble 2024 and he missed the show. This year, once again he is heavily rumored to main event WrestleMania 41. Punk was asked about his plans for getting Mania main event on post-Raw press conference where he responded by saying;

“While I think you’d be foolish to say that it doesn’t matter, I would also feel it’s foolish to hold me to the same ideas and things that I said ten, twelve years ago.” CM Punk said. “A lot of other people think that maybe I need to main event WrestleMania [to] I don’t know, solidify anything I’ve ever done. I could have never come back here and had a Hall of Fame career, right?
“To me, if that opportunity arises, I’m not gonna shy away from it because it scares the hell out of me, frankly, and I think if your dreams don’t scare you, then you need to find different ones, bigger ones. Main eventing the first Raw on Netflix is a pretty big deal, though. Nobody else can say they did that.

“I want people in the locker room to feel the way I did; you know, I want people to look at me and go, ‘That should be me. I want that opportunity, I want that situation, that high-pressure match,’ because pressure will make diamonds, and there’s too many talented people in that locker room to be complacent.”
There are strong rumors that Punk may face The Original Tribal Chief Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 which indeed has all the potential to be the rightful main event of either night of the show. Finally, CM Punk and his fans may hopefully be granted their biggest wish.
