A lot of names came and go throughout the Ruthless Aggression era of WWE. The promotion had big plans for some of them but now these wrestlers are completely forgotten. For example, Mark Jindrak was scheduled to be a part of Evolution at first, nowadays nobody remembers him. A wrestler named Mordecai was planned to headline WrestleMania with the Undertaker. Nobody knows where he is today.

Another such wrestler was Chris Masters, who had been one of the biggest projects of WWE during the time. It was pretty clear that the promotion was pushing him as the next top star of the promotion. He had big feuds with some of the top wrestlers and he even featured on multiple big matches. But unfortunately, Masters could not be a success either.

Chris Masters Expresses His Desire to Return to WWE

After his failed first run, WWE brought him back during the early days of the PG Era but this time he was mostly treated as a lower mid card and he was mostly seen jobbing to different wrestlers. Presently he is active on the independent circuit and he is doing quite good on the Indies. Speaking on the “Rewind, Recap, Relive” podcast, Chris Masters expressed his desire to return to WWE;

Chris Masters worked in WWE during the 2000s

“I’d like to, man. I’ve tried to work for that. I was with the NWA for a minute, and that gave me kind of a good platform to kind of show what I can do, but I don’t know, it’s tough, man. I don’t know, I look around the landscape now, and I don’t where that opportunity’s gonna come from. It might not be in the cards. It doesn’t mean I’m gonna walk away from wrestling. But I don’t know, man.

Chris Masters is presently active on the Independent Circuit

"It’s just one of those things where the career of a wrestler goes through a lot, in terms of it’s a love/hate relationship, and you love it sometimes, but sometimes you don’t feel like it’s loving you back. I’ve definitely fallen back in love with wrestling, but I’ve gotten to the point where I just don’t feel like it’s loving me back, and I just don’t know if I’m gonna get…I definitely feel like my ability is better than it’s ever been, and if given the opportunity, I could do something.

"But the question is, is that opportunity gonna come, and if it is, who’s it gonna come from? So I don’t know.”

Chris Masters featured on many Championship matches in WWE but he could never win any titles in the promotion. But he did an excellent job on the independent circuit and he want multiple top championships from all over the indies. Masters is only 42 right now so he can definitely have an excellent run in WWE. He may not be promoted as one of the top stars of the promotion, but he can be a great fit on the mid card.
