Both Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu had been the two breakout stars of WWE from 2024 as ‘The American Nightmare’ created history last year by beating 1300+ days championship reign of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. Rhodes is still carrying the WWE title pretty strongly and he is scheduled to defend his title against Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble in a Ladder Match.
Jacob Fatu on the other hand made his WWE debut last year as a part of the Bloodline storyline and he can arguably be considered the best performer of all the names that were involved in the New Bloodline side. According to reports, WWE officials are considering Fatu as one of their biggest prospects for the future.

2024 can be considered the year for both Rhodes and Fatu as both of them were quite successful. Rhodes may have been the top star of 2024 but Fatu also emerged as one of the biggest future prospects. WWE Hall of Famer JBL recently expressed his desire to face both Fatu and Rhodes along with TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth. Speaking on a recent episode of Something to Wrestling Podcast, JBL said;

“Cody Rhodes, no doubt about it. He’s the guy. He’s the face of the company. But also the size difference, I worked really well with guys that I had a size advantage on. I understood that very well. I also worked, I felt pretty well with guys that I had a size advantage with, where they were much bigger, you had Big Show, you had Undertaker and Kane, you had some guys like that that I really enjoyed working with. But Cody Rhodes, I mean, that would be so fun.
“I think so much of Cody. Loved Cody since the JBL and Cole show and I think it’d be a lot of fun to work with Cody. I tell you, the other guys I work with, I would love to work with Jacob Fatu. He’s awesome. My God. That’d be so much fun to work with a guy like that, who could do so much stuff. I mean, that would be a blast. I mean, that would be so much fun to do.” JBL said.

“The other guy, you mentioned three people, the other guy, Dolph, Nic. I mean, I’ve never seen Dolph have a bad match, and I saw him have matches with Del Rio.” JBL added. “My style and Del Rio’s are similar. Del Rio is better than me, but the style is similar, and I see how that style works. There’s just an old, simple style when a heel is bigger and can beat up the babyface, and that babyface works from underneath. Dolph has such incredible fire and is so talented, I think we could really have some good matches.”

JBL is retired from in ring action a long time ago but with his recent actions after his TNA Wrestling debut, it looks like return to in ring action in imminent. ‘The Wrestling God’ is a former WWE Champion and he even defended his WWE title against John Cena at WrestleMania 21. He also had other big matches with some of the top stars in professional wrestling history like The Undertaker and Batista. A potential in ring return of the WWE Hall of Famer would be historic.
