Allen Reeves had been promoted as a future top star when he started his journey in WWE in 2012. He actually joined WWE back in 2004 but he was introduced among the main roster audience as Ryback in 2012. WWE gave him a Goldberg like push upon joining main roster. He started an undefeated streak of 38 matches before losing to CM Punk at the Hell in a Cell event of 2012.

His monster push continued as he made another big statement when he eliminated five wrestlers from the Royal Rumble match of 2013 and he was also one of the final two wrestlers of the match. He won the Intercontinental Championship inside Elimination Chamber in 2015 which showed the continuation of his strong push.

But by 2016, Reeves was frustrated with WWE and he was released in August of the same year. It was revealed that there were contract disputes and creative frustration which led to his release. Recently, Ryback released a video on Instagram where he talked about a potential return to WWE. He also discussed why he never to WWE;

Ryback is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion

“Now that Vince [McMahon] is gone, I am well, well moved on past the situation. I wish them all the best. I am doing great. I am at peace with everything on that, and I won what I needed to win. They’re doing good. I’m doing good, and life is good

“I’ve got my health back. I’ve been blessed, very grateful for everything, for something like that to even remotely happen.” Reeves said. “Some serious wrongs need to be righted, and it would most, honestly take The Rock getting involved for something to get done.”

After leaving WWE, Reeves went to the Independent Circuit where he spent a couple of years. He achieved some success in the form of a couple of indie championships, but in 2018, he left the independent circuit and stopped wrestling. There had been numerous discussions of a potential return, but he never returned to wrestling after 2018.
