Ric Flair; who is often regarded as ‘The Nature Boy’ has an unbelievable record in wrestling and it remained untouched for a long time. WWE recognizes him as a 16 times World Champion which is still the highest number of World title reigns in any major wrestling promotion. Flair actually has 19 World title reigns from WWE, WCW, and NWA combined, but for some reason, WWE recognizes only 16 title reigns of Flair.
John Cena is the first wrestler in WWE who touched the record of Flair and apart from Flair, he is only 16 times World Champion recognized by WWE. The wrestlers that come close to them are Randy Orton, Triple H, and Charlotte Flair. Each of them has 14 World title reigns. Triple H is the only wrestler who has no chance of touching or beating Flair and Cena since he is retired from wrestling.

Breaking: Ric Flair Reveals The Wrestlers He Would Love To See Break His Record
But Cena, Orton, and Charlotte Flair have all the chances to beat the record of Flair. In fact, all of them are presently favorites to beat it. But whom does Flair want to see beat his record that remained unbeaten for a long time? Speaking on Busted Open Radio, ‘The Dirtiest Player in The Game’ revealed the following;
Ric Flair is a 16 times World Champion recognized by WWE
“I have to tell you how exciting that stuff with Uso and John Cena was—great, great story. You know, I said to myself, if they do take this with John—and this is a selfish comment—they’ll be talking about me more on TV than everybody else going into Theia, right? And when John hit the floor, I went, ‘Damn,’ because it would have really led to a lot of speculation about whether John would break the record.”

Ric Flair is a two times WWE Hall of Famer
“I’d like it to be one of three people—Randy [Orton] Charlotte, or John. My first pick would be Charlotte. I have so much time for John Cena. He is truly one of the really great people in our business—polite and nice. At least to me, if I’d have to be missing something to say that he’s not special to me. John is very special.”
John Cena recently started his retirement tour and he would continue throughout 2025. His prime focus of this retirement tour is winning his 17th World title and beating Ric Flair’s record. Charlotte Flair and Randy Orton are still going quite strong in WWE and both of them have the chance of touching or beating the record of Flair.
