R Truth is one of the most beloved names in the world of professional wrestling and he is also one of the most lovable babyfaces of WWE today. He is also one of the longest serving members of the WWE roster as he is active in the promotion since 2008. He is also considered one of the best comedians in professional wrestling history.
But can you imagine him as a heel? Despite being a lovable babyface, he has previously worked as a heel. In 2011 he was an established heel in WWE and it may be hard to believe but he did an amazing job as a negative character. He even pick up some big victories over some of the top stars like John Cena.
Breaking: R Truth to Turn Heel? Former Champion Reflects on The Possibilities
There were talks that WWE wanted to push him as a main event star regularly while he was working as a heel. But soon it was decided that he is a natural baby face and he should only work as a face. Once he turned face, he never turned heel again. But is there a possibility of R Truth turning heel again? Recently, he appeared on "Insight with Chris Van Vliet" where he explained the possibilities;
R Truth is a former two times WWE United States Champion
"There's a part of me that does want to turn heel. I think it's a selfish part so that people can see me as a heel, just because a couple of generations have just known me as R-Truth the fun guy, the comedic guy. A lot of people have not seen that side of me that can still be brought out."
R Truth is active in WWE since 2008
Truth continued, "To be a heel you have to get that real, genuine hatred; heel heat. Mine would be more of like, they will want me to bash somebody's head in. Selfishly, I would love to see it one time, but I don't have to." Said the former two times WWE United States champion.
Truth will turn 53 in a number of weeks and despite being this old he is still received regular booking in WWE as he is one of the most popular names of the promotion. So it may sound a little weird that a wrestler changing gimmick at this age but when it is about Truth, nothing is impossible.
