Royal Rumble 2025 took place last Saturday and it was a huge success in terms of ratings and viewership. It was also a big financial success. The event received mixed reactions overall with the fans got split in favour and against Jey Uso; the winner of the men's Royal Rumble match. But most of the fans hated Charlotte Flair winning the women's Royal Rumble match.
The event was also packed with multiple surprises as AJ Styles and Alexa Bliss meet their return to WWE during the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches. It also provided another surprise when Akira Tozawa failed to compete in the Royal Rumble match after getting attacked by Carmelo Hayes and YouTube star IShowSpeed replaced him by the orders of Triple H to participate in the men's Royal Rumble match.

Speed has a huge following on the Internet and his appearance in the men's Royal Rumble match broke the internet. Speed himself revealed the following on his X / Twitter; BREAKING: Speed’s Royal Rumble appearance has OVER 215 MILLION views across WWE and his social media in UNDER 12 HOURS, making it the MOST-WATCHED segment of the event 🤯
Speed also set another shocker when he eliminated former Money in the Bank winner Otis from the match. But soon, he was attacked by Bron Breakker and also got eliminated by the WWE IC champion. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H was extremely happy with the reaction to Speed's Royal Rumble from the fans. In the post event interview, the Cerebral Assassin said the following;

“My hats off to IShowSpeed. I sort of felt bad, only sort of. I’ve never seen a human being get hit that hard but yeah. He’s game. My hats off to him, I respect him for that. I don’t know how many people if I said there’s a possibility [you might get speared in the middle of the ring]… I don’t know how many people would say ‘Yeah let’s do it,”
IShowSpeed got eliminated by Bron Breakker from the Royal Rumble
“My hats off to him. He loves the business and he loves being around it. He’s great for it. I know he wants to do some more things down the line and we’ll be happy to have him here.” concluded Triple H; the WWE Hall of Fame 2025 Inductee.

It may have received a strong reaction from the internet community but IShowSpeed's Royal Rumble appearance also anger a lot of hardcore smarks. There are theories that the spot was originally booked for Solo Sikoa. Large number of fans are extremely unhappy and claiming that WWE is only becoming a business and not a proper wrestling show anymore. But such appearances are actually 'best for business.'
