Liverpool had been excellent this season with back to back big victories in both domestic and European competitions. Despite four of their forwards has been scoring regularly, the other two major forwards have been quite disappointing with one of them is not even getting any opportunities at the club.
The Reds brought in Federico Chiesa in the previous summer transfer window from Juventus for a fee of £10 million. The fans were really optimistic about this signing, but Chiesa had been pretty homesick ever since joining the English Giants, and he is also failing to cope up with the physicality of English football.
Breaking: Liverpool May Let Two of Their Star Forwards Go This January
We can expect The Reds to offload their unhappy forward along with their Uruguayan star forward Darwin Nunez who could not get his dream form ever since joining the Reds. He had been a record money signing for the former Premier League Champions but he could never be the most crucial player for his side.
He had been given regular opportunities to shine, but somehow, he was not being able to do his job. The Reds' Dutch boss Arne Slot may wtill be still hopeful about him. "For me, he has impact," Slot stated.
Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa are rumored to leave Liverpool soon
"If you only look at goals, he hasn't scored the amount of goals that he wants to score, or we want a number nine to score, but he does have impact in his work rate. He's part of a team that scores a lot of goals and is winning a lot."
Federico Chiesa joined Liverpool at the start of this season
"Of course, as a No. 9, you want to score more goals and that's definitely what he wants as well. But I'm not only judging Mohamed Salah on his goals and Darwin on his goals - I also judge them on their work rate and what they bring to the team. The fans support him so much that maybe he wants it too much." Said the Dutch boss of The Reds.
Check out a potential transfer target the Reds here
Nunez is going through his third season with the Reds and he is yet to deliver something on a consistent basis. The majority of the fans have already started to demand a potential offloading of the 24 year old. No big name is strongly linked with Liverpool at this moment, but if both of these forwards leave in this window, fans can expect someone to join by the end of January.
