At the Netflix RAW Premiere on June 6th, 2025, ‘The Champ’ John Cena appeared and received a huge ovation from the fans. He started his retirement tour by cutting an excellent promo and announcing his participation in the men’s Royal Rumble match at the upcoming Royal Rumble event.
Last year, Cena appeared at the Money in the Bank event where he announced that he would retire by the end of 2025. This bombshell was a heartbreaker for his fans but they respected his wish since he wanted to focus on his Hollywood career. Cena did not make any WWE appearances after that until his latest appearance at the Netflix RAW Premiere.

Recently, WWE and TNA signed a multi year partnership deal and we can expect to see many cross promotion appearances. John Cena can also be seen in the TNA Wrestling ring as a part of this deal. Wrestling Legend Matt Hardy is also hopeful about this dream appearance. Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast, he said;

“Maybe. I mean, John’s a guy who knows how to… John’s a guy who knows how to do things that garner a lot of chatter. And that is something that would garner a lot of chatter. Especially if they put him in a good position where he looked favorable and was doing good stuff… I wouldn’t rule it out of the realm of possibility.

“Especially, knowing John Cena. I feel like, he’s gonna go out, he’s gonna go out with a bang over the course of this next year. So, him dropping in… Just imagine him showing up at TNA, being advertised for the Slammiversary at the big arena, the UBS right? That would be something. It would be pretty amazing.” Said Matt Hardy.

Cena never appeared in any wrestling promotion outside of WWE. If he actually appears in TNA Wrestling, it will be huge. Plus, TNA Wrestling will also receive a huge boost if Cena actually appears in their ring. The promotion may also get back their lost glory days by this one appearance only. Similarly, appearances from the likes of Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre can also provide them a huge boost.
