John Cena is often regarded as one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling and many wrestlers of today have idolized him while growing up. He is a former sixteen times WWE World Champion which is the highest number in WWE yet. Ric Flair is recognized as a sixteen times World Champion too but his title reigns came from different promotions.
The 47 year old professional wrestler was the face of WWE during the Ruthless Aggression Era and he is one of the prime faces of the promotion’s history along with the likes of Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and of course, Roman Reigns from the most recent time.

But recently, former three times WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy made a shocking claim that he could probably be a bigger name than even Cena. Hardy was a top star of WWE during the late Ruthless Aggression Era and early PG Era. Speaking on WFAA TV in Dallas recently, The Charismatic Enigma said;

“Man, I don’t know, probably,” said Jeff Hardy. “The way I was living life in my 20s and 30s, and if I was living life the way I’m living life now, oh my gosh, there’s no telling. I would probably be bigger than John Cena today. Because I was born with such a gift to be a pro wrestler. It just felt so natural, like I was totally created to do this thing.

“And the cool thing about that is, I’m still here. I still have life, and I feel good. As Matt had mentioned, we’re big ice bathers, and that’s been crazy beneficial for me, mentally and physically. So yeah I don’t put a number on it. I’ll just pretty much wrestle until I can’t wrestle anymore.”

Jeff Hardy may had been a top star of WWE at a point and he was also quite over the fans. But could he seriously be a bigger deal than Cena? This will be debatable. Hardy’s WWE contract expired in 2010 and the promotion did not renew it which proved that his fame was slowly decreasing among the fans. But Jeff Hardy will definitely be remembered as one of the biggest stars of his time.
