Becky Lynch was nowhere to be seen in the wrestling world after her defeat to Liv Morgan in last May. ‘The Irish Lass kicker’ won the Women’s World Championship on April 22, but her WWE contract was edging towards its expiry date, so she had to drop the title to Liv Morgan in only 33 days.
Lynch earned the right to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40 for the Women’s World Championship after she won the No. 1 contender’s Elimination Chamber at the Elimination Chamber event of 2024. She lost to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40, but Rhea was forced to relinquish her championship with an injury, Lynch won a 14 woman Battle Royal to win the title.

As soon as she won the title, she started a feud with Liv Morgan over the title, and she dropped the title to Liv Morgan only 33 days after winning it. Becky’s contract expired in June 1 and she left. But what had she been doing all this time during her absence? Her husband Seth Rollins recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet where he revealed;
“Essentially my role got either repurposed or completely erased. I did do a bit of an audition to possibly hop into another role, I believe, or the repurposing of my role. I’m not exactly sure on what it was, but they ended up going in a different direction with it.”

“I really don’t care. I don’t love acting. I love wrestling. My wife loves acting. She’s way better at it than I am. She’s got awesome stuff coming out. Obviously, she announced her bit on Star Trek, which is gonna be sick. I think that comes out later, maybe next year.
“And she’s got another thing that I’m not allowed to talk about that’ll be coming out sooner than that. Yeah, I can’t say anything. You know people have been like, ‘Oh she’s on hiatus, taking a break.’ She has not been taking a break. She has not. She has been working her tail off...the last six, seven months. She’s been hustling.

...we’ve been living all over the place for what she’s been doing. The shoots have been in different locations, so we’ve been bouncing around. Spent like a month in Toronto, I think for the Star Trek thing. We spent a month or two out on the east coast [in late 2024] for the top secret thing I’m not supposed to talk about. But yeah, she’s been super busy.”
Reports are now coming out that Becky Lynch has signed a new contract with WWE and she is heavily rumored to make her return next Monday in RAW. There are also rumors that she may return during the women’s Royal Rumble match. Becky Lynch is also heavily rumored to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year.
