Arsenal Boss Said “We Are Very Short” Indicating The Squad Depth Compared To Liverpool After 2-2 Draw With Aston Villa
In the question of the influence of results in pressuring new signings, Arteta said, “Not the result, I think when you look at the performances, I don't know how many teams are playing at this level in the league. When you look at the bench you probably say, 'Look at the bench, we are very, very short'.”
Arteta is sharing the message with Arsenal owner for a January Transfer window
On Liverpool's capability to win the game in the last minute, Arteta commented “There are moments, and obviously they (Liverpool) managed to do that (win).” He added "They made the subs, and the subs made an impact and changed the game.”
"On our side it was the opposite, even after conceding the two goals very close to each other. The danger was that I knew half the team could go downhill because we were physically drained,” Gunners Boss highlighted.
Benjamin Sesko is the new target for Arsenal to replace Gabrial Jesus
Owner of Arsenal is planning a bid for Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko to bolster the attacking option. Gunners are interested in offering a £70 million bid for this 21-year-old Slovenian in the winter transfer window. However, other premier league clubs are also interested in the striker which might make it difficult for Arsenal to seal the deal.
Apart from purchasing a forward, the Gunners need to increase their defensive options as their main man in defense, William Saliba, is heavily linked to Real Madrid. If this deal happens then it would worsen the defensive line for Arsenal and could trigger panic purchase options in summer window of 2025.
Thus, Arteta wants a balance in transfer with attacking and defending options that can make them solid in the title-contending race and compete with Liverpool and Manchester City who already have a strong squad. Even Man City is running riot in the transfer window with multiple confirmed deals which could give a tough tussle for Arsenal in the Premier League.
