Last Saturday night at the Royal Rumble event, arguably the biggest pop was the return of Alexa Bliss. She remained out of action for a long time as she had to deal with injuries, illnesses, and she was also on maternity break. Fans were desperately waiting to see her return and it actually took a long time.
It was already rumored heavily that ‘Little Miss Bliss’ is returning at the Royal Rumble event during the women’s Rumble match as a surprise entrant. However, there were also reports that she had some contract disputes and her return to WWE had been postponed indefinitely. Multiple top media sources made the claim.

“Alexa Bliss was set to return on the January 13th edition of RAW in San Jose with a storyline involving with the Wyatt Sicks faction.” Reported PWInsider previously, “However, before the show, the storyline was reportedly dropped and there is currently no creative work plans for Alexa Bliss. Things could change tho.”
Alexa Bliss remained out of action for more than a couple of years
Since PWInsider had been a very trusted source over the years, the return of Bliss made it pretty clear that it was a last minute change. If so, someone else might have definitely scheduled to enter as the entry no. 21; the number that Bliss drew in the women’s Royal Rumble match last Saturday.
Bliss returned to WWE at Royal Rumble 2025
Reports from Fightful Select suggest that originally, former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Shotzi was supposed to enter as the entry no. 21 before Bliss finally got into an agreement over her contract with WWE.
The return of Bliss may have had a huge pop, and arguably the biggest pop of the night, but her elimination sparked backlash among a lot of fans since she received a jobber treatment. Hopefully, she gets the proper treatment on her further run in WWE. She had been a five times WWE Women’s Champion and she is only 33, she definitely has a long way to go.
