TNA Wrestling came in existence back in 2002 and instantly it was able to establish itself as the biggest rival of WWE of the time. Just the previous year, WCW died and the WCW fans were looking for an alternative. TNA Wrestling managed to provide the content what WCW fans were looking for. They also brought in some of the top WCW stars, it always felt like the promotion always wanted to be WCW.

Apart from bringing top stars, they tried to build some of their own stars as well. Some of the TNA originals went on to become the biggest draws, one of such example was AJ Styles who is presently active in WWE and is also a two times WWE World Champion. Samoa Joe and Robert Roode are also originally built by TNA Wrestling.

Abyss Made a Mistake By Not Joining WWE? Explained by WWE Hall of Famer

There was another name who became a massive success in TNA Wrestling and that was ‘The Monster’ Abyss who worked in the promotion from early days. He remained in TNA for 17 long years and he is one of the most successful names of the promotion. But should he move to WWE during his prime? WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett recently gave insight on this matter while speaking on his “My World” podcast;

“Here’s — and I probably told him something to this effect. That the way I saw and look, me and Abyss, have — we’ve laughed a s**tload together, we’ve cried together. He’s been with me in some dark moments. I can’t say enough — we give him a hard time, but I really can’t say enough good things about the guy. But, and I probably said it maybe not as blunt — maybe I would have.

Abyss is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion

“But I would have said something to the effect: ‘Abby, you’re going to go have a run with Undertaker, and you’re probably going to have a run with Kane. And if all goes according well, which I have no reason to believe that you won’t do fantastic business with both guys, then you’re going to get a run with [John] Cena. And then it’s going to be over, because they’re not replacing Taker, Kane.

“Cena is irreplaceable in his mark. Just, they’ve already got monsters there. And so I think you’re going to have a rocket attached to you. I have no idea where you will land after that. And so that’s the gamble you’re taking. The first two years are going to be a smashing success. I don’t know where it goes from there.’

Abyss

Abyss is presently active in WWE as a producer

“And I, you know, probably said better than that, and I probably would say that to this day that it would be, what type of relationship could he have developed with Vince McMahon during this timeframe? I think it would have come down specifically to that.”

A large number of WWE fans always wanted to see Abyss in WWE because of his similarities with WWE Hall of Famer Kane and a match between the dup always remained a dream match for the fans. Unfortunately, this match has never happened and it will never get booked since both of these wrestling legends are now retired from in ring action.
